The BlackBerry Storm 2 is the upgrade from the BlackBerry Storm. Most of the specs have yet to be released, but it appears that it’s pretty similar to its predecessor with the added bonus of being slimmer and more compact as well as having a Wi-Fi feature.
BlackBerry Storm 2 Design
Fairly little information has been made available about the BlackBerry Storm 2, but initial indications are that it will look almost identical (maybe slimmer) to its predecessor the BlackBerry Storm. The screen dominates the front of the handset, and appears to possible be as large as 3.5 inches with a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels. The screen operates as a click screen as opposed to the traditional touchscreen, and the four buttons at the bottom of the phone are touch-sensitive rather than being actual physical buttons.
BlackBerry Storm 2 Music
Specs about the BlackBerry Storm 2’s music player are hard to come by, but it appears that there will be an integrated music player. If it follows in the footsteps of the first Storm, then there will be a generous amount of internal memory to store your tracks on. There will probably also be a microSD slot to increase this capacity if desired. The handset also comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack to allow you to use your favourite headphones to enhance your listening experience.
BlackBerry Storm 2 Camera
The BlackBerry Storm 2 will feature an integrated 3.2-megapixel camera with autofocus to ensure that you pictures are always clear. The first Storm had features such as Geo-tagging, image stabilisation and an LED flash, and these will hopefully be carried across to the Storm 2. The camera also appears to operate as a video recorder.
BlackBerry Storm 2 Applications and Internet
Considered by many as the greatest upgrade of the Storm 2 from its predecessor is the addition of Wi-Fi technology. There is also a GPS to ensure that you always know where you’re going, and the global roaming capability helps on your travels. There is a full HTML browser which is always particularly useful in business dealings, and the Bluetooth technology makes this even more convenient. Most e-mail apps are also supported. In addition to the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the BlackBerry Storm 2 will also feature HSDPA and EDGE technologies.
BlackBerry Storm 2 Summary
The BlackBerry Storm 2 is slightly more compact upgrade to the Storm and has the added bonus of Wi-Fi. There are a lot of specs that still need to be confirmed, but initial indications are that it’s going to be a great communication tool, a brilliant business tool, and a compact-enough handset to carry around easily in your pocket.
