The Blackberry Storm 9500 was one of the most eagerly anticipated blackberry phones, and has not dissapointed. It is a modern looking touch screen phone, with decent camera and music player, and excellent smartphone features and internet connection.

Blackberry Storm 9500 Design

The Blackberry Storm 9500 is quite a large and chunky phone measuring 112.5 x 62.2 x 14 mm and weighing 155 grams. Although compared to other smartphones this isnt really that bad. The front of the 9500 Storm is dominated by the large 3.2 inch touch screen. There is no keypad (as it’s a touch screen) but the screen can create a full qwerty keyboard and auto rotate making it easier for you to type fast. The Blackberry Storm currently only comes in black.

Blackberry Storm 9500 Camera

The camera on the 9500 Storm Blackberry is decent enough, with 3.2 mega pixels, auto focus and flash. In addition there is a video recorder and video player. Picture quality is ok.

Blackberry Storm 9500 Music

There is a music player that supports the following formats: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WMA ProPlus. It also includes the Roxio Media Player. Internal memory is set to 128 MB of flash memory and 1GB of memory (wow), and there is the option to increase this even further using a MicroSD Card.

Blackberry Storm 9500 Applications and Internet

There are of course the standard apps you’d expect to see on a phone (calendar, alarm,reminder etc.), plus some advanced applications. These include GPS Navigation, Blackberry Maps, Multi-tap, SureType and the 9500 is Facebook and MySpace compatible.

Internet connection is also good with 3G HSDPA, GPRS and EDGE technology. However there is no wifi.

Blackberry Storm 9500 Summary

In summary, the Blackberry Storm 9500 is a great addition to the Blackberry family. The touch screen was inevitable and works quite well. Email functions are brilliant and the internet connection stable. Blackberry have done a great job with the 9500 and it is sure to be a popular phone.
