The HTC Snap is a great business tool. Added emphasis has been put onto ease of use and functionality. The connectivity features are great, and basic extras have also been included to ensure that you can still have some fun.
HTC Snap Design
The HTC Snap measures 116.5 mm (height) x 61.5 mm (width) x 12 mm (thickness) and weighs in at 120 grams. The Snap has a traditional 3G Smartphone look to it, with a respectable sized screen flanked by a full QWERTY keyboard. The 2.4-inch TFT screen boasts 65 000 colours and provides high quality, clear imaging. Directly below the screen, houses a trackball and then the keypad. The keys are larger than traditional 3G phones and are thus easier to navigate through. The fact that the phone is particularly thin and light means that it’s convenient to carry around with you. Colour-wise, the phone is available in brown.
HTC Snap Music
The HTC Snap makes use of a Windows operating system and, as such, comes with Windows Media Player to listen to your favourite tunes. Most popular music formats (MP3, WMA, MIDI, WAV, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, QCP & AWB) are supported. Because of the Snap’s connectivity features, music can be copied onto your phone from CDs and other devices, and tracks can also be downloaded from the Internet. There is a fair amount of internal memory (256MB ROM, 192 MB RAM), meaning that quite a few tracks can be stored. This can be increased to 16 GB by means of a MicroSD card. Unfortunately the HTC Snap doesn’t include an FM radio.
HTC Snap Camera
Although an integrated camera has been included in the HTC Snap, it is not the primary focus of the phone. The 2-megapixel camera comes with a fixed focus function, but doesn’t include too many other advanced features. The camera can also double as a video recorder.
HTC Snap Applications and Internet
In addition to the standard phone applications, the HTC Snap includes a built-in GPS and a document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF viewer). E-mail and Instant Messaging applications compliment the phone’s messaging abilities. One of the main features being promoted on the phone is the Inner Circle application. Inner Circle acts as a filter on your Inbox and displays messages from key selected contacts.
The HTC Snap utilises a Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard operating system, and Internet connectivity is made possible with GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WLAN, Bluetooth and USB.
