The Tattoo is the soon to be released new android handset from HTC. It’s been described as a much younger, more affordable handset with all the features desired by today’s up-and-coming phone users. It’s feature-rich, attractive and easy to personalise.
HTC Tattoo Design
The HTC Tattoo is the answer to compact, personalised and stylish communication. With measurements of 106 mm (height) x 55.2 mm (width) x 14 mm (thickness) and a weight of only 113 grams, carrying the handset around in your pocket or bag won’t be an issue. The handset can be personalised by means of covers, or ‘tattoos’, that decorate the outer casing and make the phone a reflection of who you are. The TFT resistive touchscreen measures an impressive 2.8 inches, and with colour support up to 65 000 colours and a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels, image quality is great. Colour-wise, the HTC Tattoo will be available in brown, white, graphite and black.
HTC Tattoo Music
The HTC Tattoo features an integrated music player that supports MP3, eAAC+, WAV and WMA9 music files. The handset is aimed at a younger target market so a fair amount of emphasis has been placed on the entertainment features. The music player has easy organisation and display features. There is also a built-in FM Radio with RDS features, meaning that information from the radio station can be displayed as you listen to your music. The 3.5 mm headset jack means that your favourite headphones can be used to enhance your listening experience. There is a fair amount of internal memory (256MB RAM, 512MB ROM) to store your tracks on, but a microSD card slot does mean that this capacity can be increased if desired.
HTC Tattoo Camera
The HTC Tattoo has a built-in 3.15-megapixel camera. With autofocus features, you can be sure that your pictures are always in focus, and the 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution means that picture quality is great. The camera also functions as a video recorder.
HTC Tattoo Internet and Applications
The HTC Tattoo makes use of the Android Operating System and includes some fun extras. The GPS with A-GPS support means that you’ll always know where you’re going, and Google Maps makes the experience much easier. There is a digital compass as well as a dedicated search key.
Internet connectivity is made possible by GPRS, HSCSD, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, WLAN Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB technologies.
HTC Tattoo Summary
The HTC Tattoo is funky, affordable handset that’s aimed at the younger market. Its customisation and entertainment features make it a great ‘fun’ handset, while the feature-rich applications make it a perfect communication companion. The fact that it’s small and compact makes it that much more appealing.
