The Samsung S5600 is a cool looking touch screen phone, that looks to be very popular in 2009.
Samsung S5600 Design
The Samsung S5600 has a large 2.8 inch touch screen, wrapped up in a body measuring 102.8mm x 54.8mm x 12.9 mm and weighing just 92 grams. It is a sexy looking phone (as you’d expect from Samsung), and there are 2 touch-sensitive buttons beneath the screen as well as a large NavPad. Colour-wise, you’re looking at the S5600 Samsung only being available in Black at the moment.
S5600 Camera
The camera on the Samsung S5600 has 3 mega pixels, LED flash and autofocus. Althought nowadays 3 MP is nothing to get excited about, there are a few advanced features such as smile shutter (which takes a picture automatically when someone smiles), and Geo-Tagging (which tags your pictures so you will always know where you were when you took the picture). There is also image stabilisers, which ensure the picture comes out clear even when your hand shakes.
Samsung S5600 Music
The music player supports all the popular music formats (MP3, AAC & WMA), as well as has an FM Radio. Internal memory is a decent 80MB, which if course can be increased by using a MicroSD card. Don’t expect too much from the player (it aint a Walkman phone by any imagination), but the sound quality is good and the supplied headphones decent.
Samsung S5600 Internet and Applications
Application-wise there are the basics such as calendar, organiser, alarm clock etc. Advanced features include A GPS Navigation, and Screen Gesture Lock - this allows you to simultaneously unlock the phone and open a designated menu by drawing a letter on the touch screen. You designate each letter to link to a specific menu…pretty cool.
Internet connection is also good with 3G HSDPA, bluetooth, GPRS and EDGE, and the Samsung S5600 will support HTML, XHTML and WAP 2.0
Samsung S5600 Summary
The Samsung S5600 will for sure be a top seller this year (2009) due to its great looks and internet connectivity, and touch screen (with Screen Gesture Lock). We just wish it had atleast a 5 mega pixel camera and a better music player.
