The Sony Ericsson W995 is positioned to be the best Walkman phone that Sony have ever made. This is quite a statement, considering their other great walkman phones, like the W705, but read on and see why people think this.

Sony Ericsson W995 Design

The Sony Ericsson W995 is a slide-out phone, with the keypad sliding out from the bottom of the mobile. The buttons on the keypad are evenly spaced and slightly raised, given it a nice solid feel. There is a 2.6 inch, 240×320 pixel screen, which is crystal clear. There are of course dedicated walkman style keys on the side of the Sony Ericsson W995. Sony Ericsson W995 should come in Black and Red.

Now, typically walkman phones have focused on the music feature, and although this is still definitely the case with the Sony Ericsson W995, they have also put a lot of effort into the camera. The camera on the Sony Ericsson W995 is an awesome 8.1 mega pixels. Further details of the camera are still sketchy, but we can assume it will have autofocus, Face detection, Smile Shutter and the myriad of other features that high-end camera’s typically have.

As mentioned earlier, the Sony Ericsson W995 is a walkman phone - so music is it’s game. Apparently sold with an 8GB memory card, there should never be a shortage of space for your tunes. Sony have released ‘Media Go’ (the world exclusive) with the Sony Ericsson W995. Basically this means that you no longer need be concerned about the format of music (or videos or images) that you download onto the Sony Ericsson W995, as the W 995 will automatically format them to ‘fit’. This is a real step forward. Expect other walkman phone staples such as Sendsme, shake control and clear stereo to be included as well.

Sony Ericsson W995 Applications and Internet

The Sony Ericsson W995 includes ‘Media Go’ (discussed above), which means that you can now seamlessly transfer data between your Sony Ericsson W995 and computer and the W995 mobile will automatically adjust and sort it. There is Wi-Fi and 3G HSPDA connectivity as well as built in GPS.
