Mobile Phone Network Coverage

Mobile Phone Coverage

Many people want to check that they will be able to get coverage in their particular area before they take a new Mobile Phone Contract. They will either be making sure that the networks covers their living location, their work location, or both.
Mobile Phone Coverage will of course vary by network, as each one has better reception in certain areas, and of course poorer reception in others. Often times you will find that you will have excellent reception from O2 in your area, while your family/friends who are using Orange have very poor and sporadic reception.

It has been put forward that in the future networks will work closer together to ensure that network coverage is more evenly distributed. For example, T-Mobile might make a deal with Vodafone so that where T-Mobile is stronger it shares this with Vodafone and vice versa. However deals like these are not very common, so it is still very advisable to check the Mobile Phone Network Coverage in your area.

Billmonitor

Today we would like to just have a quick mention of a site that we only recently came across. The site is called Billmonitor.com, and they are the UK’s only Ofcom accredited mobile comparison calculator.

Basically what they enable you to do is to calculate what you will actually pay on a monthly basis and not just what the contract monthly fee is.
At the moment they are comparing 6,834,220 deals, which translates down to 228,532 tarrifs with 163 bundles. These are truly mind-boggling numbers.

The one aspect that we really found great was the ‘Assessment’ tool, which analyses your online bills and makes recommendations based upon those…brilliant. The assessment tool is here

Red Nokia 5730

The Nokia 5730 is proving to be a very popular phone indeed. Now Nokia have released the Red Nokia 5730, and it looks fantastic. The other colour option is the blue, which also looks good, but the red 5730 Nokia really has a BANG to it.

Nokia 5730 in Red

The Red Nokia 5730 has a full qwerty keyboard, as well as a good sized keypad with large navigational pad. The screen is also a good large 2.4 inches. Being an Xpressmusic phone, all music formats are supported and there is an FM Radio as well as the 3.5 headphone jack, which we love. There is a massive amount of internal memory so you will have plenty to store your tracks on.
The camera is decent with 3.2 mega pixels, Led flash and 8 times digital zoom, so expect to have really good quality photos. Finally internet connection is brilliant with 3G HSDPA.\

Mobile Phone Sales dip

mobile phone sales reportThe global economic crises has hit everyone, from huge conglomerates, to small mom and pop shops. Although it has been focused on hitting the construction and motor industries pretty hard, it has ensured it is fair, by continuing to reak havoc on all industries. One of these industries, has of course been mobile phones.

Now, of course we all need mobile phones in today’s fast pace, always connected world. However, we don’t always need to upgrade and get the newest and latest models. This is where the manufacturers have really been hit. Poepl have chosen to rather upgrade or buy a less spec’d out phone, that purchase the latest and greatest. In some cases, poeple have chosen to not upgrade at all, but just keep their existing phone. This has resulted in the following (source: vnunet): World-wide sales figures have dropped by 5%. Now 5% might not seem that large, but when you are dealing with multi-millions, that 5% soon becomes an astronomical figure.

The question is, where does this leave the manufacturers coming out with advanced top-end phones, like the Samsung i8510 Innov8?

Brits want basic mobile phones

basic mobile phoneIt seems that nowadays, every second phone that comes out is a smart phone with a myriad of expensive and advanced technologies. This could be anything from 12 mega-pixel cameras, touch screens, geo-tagging images, wifi, and massive memories capable of storing thousands of songs. Phones like the Nokia N96 and newer ones like the Nokia N97 and N99 are sure to be very similarly highli spec’d out.

However, there is a growing trend of people wanting to go back to basics. Moneysupermarket.com have just completed a survey and it seems that a substantial number of brits are tired of their ’super-duper advanced’ mobile phones breaking and having technical issues. In the survey of over 2000 adults, only 18% said they wanted a mobile phone with the latest technology. LG seemed to be the phone manufacturer with the most complaints, with Motorola having the least. This could also be as a result of LG typically having more technostuff than other manufacturers.

What do you think? Do you want the latest or the most reliable?
