Samsung M2510 Review

The Samsung M2510 is fashionable, young phone. The music player is great and, although it doesn’t come with too many extras, all the basics are there. It looks pretty funky too.

Samsung M2510 Design

The Samsung M2510 measures 99.5 mm (height) x 46.5 mm (width) x 15.7 mm (thickness) and weighs a mere 90.5 grams. The 2.2-inch screen has 175×220 resolution and features 256k colours, meaning that image quality is pretty good. The main focus of the M2510, however, is music - besides the screen the only other features on the front of the phone are dedicated music keys. The music control pad is highlighted with blue accents, providing the phone with a funky, functional music player. When open, the slide phone features an alphanumeric keypad. Colour-wise, the phone is available in black.

Samsung M2510 Music

The Samsung M2510 was built for music. The dedicated music pad on the front of the phone is evidence of the M2510’s integrated music player and FM radio. The phone comes with a built in automatic equalizer that provides exceptional quality sound. The music display options also make the phone informative and a lot of fun Ð music tracks, artists, album artwork, etc all appear on the phones screen. Music recognition is another great feature of the Samsung M2510 - by recording just a few seconds of a song, the phone can tell you the song title, the artist or band, and the album that the song features on. All your music can also be played out loud as the integrated speakers provide a great way of sharing your tracks with others.
The phone’s FM radio has a built-in RDS function - this allows information from the radio station to be displayed across your screen. There is also an FM recording feature which allows you to use your phone to record music.
MP3, e-AAC+ and WMA music formats are all supported, and the 15 MB of internal memory can be increased up to 8 GB using a MicroSD card, meaning that you’ll have plenty of space for all your tracks.

Samsung M2510 Camera

Even though the M2510 is a dedicated music phone, Samsung have been kind enough to include a built-in camera. At 1.3-megapixels, picture quality isn’t as high as many other phones - the photo’s are still great for caller identification and for taking quick snapshots though. The camera feature on the M2510 also functions as a video recorder, and 3GP and MPEG4 video files can be played on the phone.

Samsung M2510 Applications and Internet

The Samsung M2510 comes with all the standard phone applications, and also features music-specific applications. These include music recognition and FM recording functions.
Internet connectivity is made possible with GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth. There is unfortunately no 3G function.

Samsung M2510 Summary

The Samsung M 2510 is a funky, young phone. Some more advanced features have been sacrificed in order to keep the phone’s costs down, but the music player is great and all the basics have been included. A great fun purchase.
