The Sony Ericsson C901 is of course part of the Cybershot family, so the camera is great. The music player also has quite a few Walkman-phone features and to top it all off, it looks pretty good too.

Sony Ericsson C901 Design

The Sony Ericsson C901 measures 105 x 45 x 13 mm (thats just 13mm thick) and weighs a light 107 grams. It might not be as small and light as the Sony Ericsson C510, but it is still quite compact. The screen is a 2.2 inches which is a decent size for taking and viewing pictures. The NavPad beneath the screen is large and makes navigating the interface very easy. The keys are well spaced and have a rounded profile which looks great. Being a Cybershot phone there are of course a few camera-dedicated keys along the sides of the C901. Colour-wise the Sony C901 is available in black, silver or peach.

Sony Ericsson C901 Music

Although the Sony Ericsson C901 is part of the Cybershot phone range, Sony have been kind enough to give it a good music player with some Walkman-phone features. All popular music formats will be supported and there is an FM Radio. The two advanced music features are TrackID and PlayNow. TrackID alows you to record a few seconds of a song and be sent the song and artist’s name; and PlayNow which is their platform for finding and downloading music. There is 110MB of internal memory, but this can be increased using a MicroSD card. Sound quality is excellent.

Sony Ericsson C901 Camera

Being a Cybershot phone, means that the C901 Sony is made for taking pictures. It has a 5 mega pixel Cyber-Shot™ Camera, with Xenon Flash, autofocus and digital zoom. Some of the other advanced features include Face detection (where the camera will focus on faces), smile shutter (the camera will automatically take a picture when someone smiles) and Geo-tagging (which tags pictures with the location at which they were taken. Picture quality is also brilliant.

Sony Ericsson C901 Applications and Internet

Apart from the standard applications found on a phone (like calendar, organiser, alarm etc., ) there is auto rotate, for the screen, and Google Maps.
Internet connection is made possible with 3G HSDPA, and EDGE and GPRS technologies. These is however no Wifi.

Sony Ericsson C901 Summary

The Sony Ericsson C901 is a good looking, solid all-round performer. Being a cybershot phone, the camera is great, but Sony have also included a very good music player. A good value for money purchase.
